In the near future, CommentSold will be updating their financial reporting, but in the meantime here is some helpful context from the Ave Shops Team!

Let's start with an example order and break down the fees below:

For this example, this shop's CS commission rate is 3%, processing fee is 2.7% + $0.30.

Order 12345:

  • Wholesale $51.25

  • Shipping cost $16.91

  • Total $68.16

Fee breakdown:

  • Wholesale costs $51.25

  • Shipping cost $10

  • CS commission fee $3.48

  • Credit card processing $3.43

  • Total $68.16

Note: The CS commission fee + credit card processing fee varies per CS plan.

As you can see, the CS commission fee and credit card processing fee were previously combined under ‘shipping cost,’ which could be confusing when comparing to Ave’s shipping rates. We’re working with the CommentSold team to separate these fees in future reports and make this a permanent change.

When am I charged?

The payment method a customer uses to purchase a dropship order will impact when CS collects fees and product costs.

  • For Klarna, CS Payments, and Stripe, CS will collect fees and costs from purchased products at the time the customer makes the purchase.

  • For Apple Pay, PayPal, and Sezzle, CS will collect fees and costs approximately one week after the transaction is placed.

What if I have a negative payout?

If many of your orders are processed through a different payment source than CS Payments, this could result in a negative payout. Examples include PayPal, Sezzle, and TikTok. CS Payments is charging for the cost of the item(s) while you are receiving the revenue on a separate platform. Overall your net take home shouldn't be negative, it is just changing which platform the payout is coming from.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Ave or CommentSold team. We're happy to help!
